Platform

Everything between your source data and a published passport

One workspace for product records, evidence, readiness and publication — connected to the systems your teams already use.

Digital Product Passport management

Draft, review and publish passports per product, with category-specific data models.

Product and variant management

Products, variants, batches, materials and identifiers (GTIN validated with the GS1 check digit).

Document intelligence & evidence

Extract data from PDF and Excel files with confidence scores and source quotes; link certificates and documents to claims.

AI never publishes: a person confirms every value.

Compliance readiness assessment

Versioned, category-specific requirements explain what is complete, missing or needs review.

An internal data-readiness indicator, not a legal determination.

QR-linked passport access

Secure links and QR codes that always open the latest published version.

Product lifecycle & traceability

Append-only lifecycle and custody events — manufacturing to shipment, transfer, repair and recycling — each declared or verified.

Material-lot chain of custody is available for textiles.

Planned

Supplier & stakeholder collaboration

Supplier records, internal-only contacts and AI-drafted data requests today.

A supplier portal for direct submissions is planned.

Enterprise integrations

CSV/Excel import with field mapping, a versioned REST API with API keys, and signed outbound webhooks.

Odoo connector in development; further vendor connectors planned.

Data governance, privacy & access

Organisation isolation, admin-only integration settings, field-level provenance, retention and data export.

Version history & auditability

Published versions are immutable; every important action lands in an append-only audit log.

Enterprise integrations

Your systems stay. Your product data connects.

Connect product and compliance information across your existing business systems without replacing the tools your teams already use.

Hourly or daily incremental pulls from connected systems. The scheduler works today; the first pull connector awaits live verification.

Product data & traceability

From enterprise systems to a published passport

Every value keeps its source. Every published passport keeps its history.

  1. Enterprise systems

ERP, PLM, files and APIs — they stay the source of truth for what they own.

  2. Integration layer

Mapping, validation, matching, idempotency and a review queue for conflicts.

  3. Structured product data

Products, variants, materials, suppliers, batches and lifecycle events, each with provenance.

  4. Evidence & assessment

Certificates and documents linked to claims; category requirements checked.

  5. Digital Product Passport

Reviewed, versioned and published — public sections only.

How it works

From existing documents to a shareable passport

  1. 01

    Upload

Upload product specifications, supplier declarations, certificates and spreadsheets.

  2. 02

    Extract

AI turns document content into structured product data. Missing values stay blank — nothing is invented.

  3. 03

    Review

Your team reviews extracted information, starting with low-confidence fields.

  4. 04

    Find the gaps

See exactly what information is complete, missing or needs attention.

  5. 05

    Prepare

Resolve missing information and build a publish-ready product record.

  6. 06

    Share

Publish a versioned passport and share it through a secure link or QR code.

AI extracts information; it never fills gaps with guesses. A person reviews and confirms everything before it becomes product data.

DPP readiness

Know what's missing before your customer asks.

Every product is checked against category-specific requirements. Every missing item comes with a reason and a next step.

  • Requirements are defined per product category and weighted by importance
  • Complete, warning and missing items are explained in plain language
  • Required gaps block publishing; recommendations don't
  • The score updates as soon as information is added
  • AI analysis suggests next actions and drafts missing text — applied only after your review

This assessment is a product-data readiness indicator and does not constitute legal advice or official EU certification.

No formal regulator integrations or regulator-approved access exist today.

Chain of custody & lifecycle

Follow the product. Preserve its history.

Structured lifecycle events record what happened to a product — from manufacturing through dispatch, transfer, use, repair and end-of-life — without rewriting the past.

  • Ten event types, from manufacturing and quality approval to shipment, receipt, custody transfer, repair and recycling
  • Every event is a declaration until an authorised person verifies or rejects it — and the passport shows which is which
  • Append-only by database rule: mistakes are fixed with a correcting event, never by editing history
  • Parties, locations and evidence references stay internal; the public passport shows only the event
  • For textiles: certified material lots, transaction certificates and mass-balance allocation checks

PlannedMulti-party chain of custody, where suppliers and logistics partners record their own events, is planned.

Data integrity

Traceable records. Verifiable evidence.

Integrity today comes from controls that are built and tested — not from a ledger.

  • Immutable published versions Available nowDatabase triggers reject any change to a published passport version.
  • Append-only audit log Available nowImportant actions are recorded and cannot be edited or deleted.
  • Field-level provenance Available nowEach value records its source system, record, time, mapping version and review state.
  • Linked evidence Available nowCertificates, documents and transaction certificates are linked to the claims they support.
  • Signed integrations Available nowWebhooks carry HMAC signatures with replay protection; API keys are scoped and hashed.

Optional blockchain anchoring Planned

For customers who need external proof, anchoring hashes of published passport versions to a public ledger is planned as an optional capability. It would never place personal data, confidential documents or commercial data on-chain.

A hash proves a record has not changed since it was anchored. It does not prove the information is true, that a supplier is authentic or that a product is compliant.

GDPR, privacy & security

Product transparency without unnecessary data exposure.

Passport information is published according to applicable requirements and your configured visibility. Everything else stays restricted.

Privacy by design

Public passports are an explicit projection; nothing is published by default.

Tenant & access isolation

Every query is scoped to your organisation; files are served only to its members.

Role-based permissions

Integrations, API keys, webhooks, exports and verifications are admin-only. Finer-grained roles are planned.

Controlled document access

Documents and certificates live in private storage behind authentication.

Data minimisation

Only mapped fields are stored from integrations; contacts, costs and terms never reach the passport or the API.

Auditability

Sign-ins, changes, publications, syncs and exports are logged.

Secure integrations

Encrypted credentials, hashed API keys, rate limits and public-HTTPS-only outbound targets.

Retention & export

Integration payloads expire after a set period; admins can export all organisation data. Configurable deletion workflows are planned.

We make no certification claims. Technical controls support GDPR compliance; contracts, processes and the specific deployment determine it.

Industry applications

Industry-specific data models, versioned requirements

Obligations differ by product category. Requirements are configured per category and version — never one universal model.

Framework: the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) is in force.

Textiles & apparel

Material composition and recycled content, supplier and origin information, certificates and transaction certificates, care and durability, chain of custody and end-of-life information.

FAQ

Questions teams ask us

Does my product need a DPP today?

Most products do not yet. The ESPR framework is in force, but DPP obligations apply only once product-specific legislation sets them, category by category. Batteries are the first established case under the EU Battery Regulation. Check the category overview above; requirements and timelines may evolve.

I manufacture outside the EU. Does this affect me?

Requirements attach to products placed on the EU market, wherever they are made. In practice, EU importers and brands rely on product information from their manufacturers and suppliers, so expect your EU customers to ask you for it.

What information will my EU customer need?

It depends on the product category and the applicable legislation. For textiles, expect material composition and recycled content, origin, certificates, durability, repair and care, substances of concern and end-of-life information. Ascendons' textile readiness checks cover these today.

Can I use my existing Excel files and PDFs?

Yes. Upload PDF or Excel (.xlsx) files; AI Import extracts what is in them and your team reviews every field. Scanned PDFs can be read with AI extraction enabled; values read from scans are always flagged for review.

Can my suppliers submit information?

Not directly yet — a supplier portal is planned. Today your team records supplier details, material lots, certificates and custody transfers in Ascendons, and AI can draft data-request emails that you send yourself.

Does Ascendons replace my ERP or PLM?

No. Your systems stay the source of truth for the data they own. Today you can connect them through CSV/Excel imports with field mapping, the versioned REST API and signed webhooks. An Odoo connector is implemented but not yet verified against a live system; SAP, Dynamics 365, Oracle, PLM and MES connectors are planned and prioritised with pilot customers.

What happens when two systems disagree?

Ascendons never silently overwrites data because an update arrived later. Each field records where its value came from. A connection may update values it supplied itself, or fields you have designated it as the owner of; anything else becomes a conflict in the error queue for a person to resolve. Published passports are never changed by a sync.

Do you use blockchain?

Not today. Integrity currently comes from immutable published versions, append-only audit and lifecycle records, field-level source references and signed webhooks. Optional anchoring of passport-version hashes to a public ledger is on the roadmap for customers who need external proof; it would never put personal or confidential data on-chain, and a hash cannot prove that the underlying information is true.

Is Ascendons GDPR compliant?

We do not claim certification or guaranteed compliance — that depends on how the platform is deployed and used, and on contracts between you and us. The platform is built to support it: organisation isolation, data minimisation in public passports and integrations, role-restricted administration, audit logs, retention of integration payloads and a full organisation data export. Ask us about the data processing terms for your deployment.

Does AI decide what goes into our passport?

No. AI only extracts values present in your documents, marks uncertain ones and leaves missing fields blank. Nothing is saved or published until a person confirms it.

Is this official EU certification?

No. Ascendons is a product-data and DPP readiness platform. The readiness score indicates information completeness; it is not legal advice, official EU certification or a guarantee of compliance.

What happens when product information changes?

Published versions are immutable. You create a new version, update it and publish it; the previous version is kept as superseded and the QR code always opens the latest one.

Which information is public?

Only what you choose. Product identity is always public; sections such as materials or traceability can be kept internal. Costs, internal notes, supplier contacts and commercial terms are never published.

Which languages are supported?

The website, sign-in, public passports and main workspace screens are available in 21 languages, selected automatically from your location and browser and changeable at any time. AI analyses and email drafts are written in your chosen language.

Where is my data stored?

Product data is stored in Cloudflare's database (D1) and documents in private object storage (R2). Every organisation's data is isolated and files are only served to signed-in members of that organisation. If you have specific data-location requirements, talk to us.
